As odd as it may seem, today, I had my proverbial ass, handed to me, by verbs. Teaching kiddo... well SLP said start working on verbs, so I dug into kiddos Zettles to find verbs... I had to look up what a verb was, then a list... then commence building. Then fell down a rabbit hole, now he has a book on some parts of grammar, a book filled with only verbs and one very tired mamma. I think that counts as studying for me too.

Today I put 80% of kiddos school supplies in the garage. It is available and easy to get to, now I can almost see the floor again. I am still buried in paper but it is getting much much easier. Kiddo went to the farmers market with me. He made his bed and helped with laundry. He did a lot of paper modeling today. No handwriting practice, but a lot of signs. He had a pretty bad headache for part of the day but the rest of his day seemed good.
SLP followed me home, can we keep it?

After exploring some polymer clay, kiddo mocked up yesterday's speech class. He made up pictures on paper and showed them to me, signing, "sign". So we "played" speech. It was cool. But, you try differentiating all the different kinds of buses in sign language. ðððĪŠððĪĢ Kiddo did dishes today. In general it was a very good day.

Speech Language Pathology is an interesting field. I can see the appeal and the challenge. I can also see how some kids are scary and others are tear jerkers. Still others a a pure joy to work with. Perhaps it has to do with the patients/clients desire to communicate verses their ability/inability to see a positive outcome even if/when they try there best. Yet, observing from an anthropological perspective or attaching outcomes and statistics one has to wonder: when/where the child begins and the practice becomes child's play. Kiddo had speech today, we made it into the actual clinic, rather than the playground. The rain may have helped with that a bit... I sat in front of the door so kiddo would attend, the proff and student worked with kiddo. He is a challenge to work with, but once you get his attention and cooperation, he will work... He said one of the games was "trash"... But he counted 1-to-1 to ten. I was on the verge of "momma cry" happ
